Brazilian Bikini

The Brazilian bikini is a skimpy swimsuit that originated from popular trends in beaches in this exotic part of the globe.  This style is known for its small cut or low-rise bottoms, more specifically at the back.  With signature cuts and unique designs, this swimwear is specially made for sunbathing, the Brazilian style.

The design of the bottoms

The bottoms of the this style of swimwear is characterized by high hip cut barely providing cover for the front area.  They come in many different styles, some of which are more revealing than the others.  For instance, the Tanga provides moderate coverage on both sides at the back, while Asa Delta has a narrower back strip, pretty much similar to a thong bikini, although its strap is slightly wider and thicker.  Finally, there is the Fio Dental, which has bottoms with “dental floss” at the back part.

The style of the tops

The tops are also as varied as the bottoms themselves.  They come in three different styles especially intended for Brazilian sunbathing.  One popular style comes in a triangular design, where there are two triangular cups made of fabric serving as breast cover.  These fabric cups are connected and held together by straps or strings that tie at the back and around the neck.

Halter top swimwear types also have a triangular shape, but they use considerably more fabric.  With the use of fabric straps around the neck and tied at the nape, they provide sufficient support to women with bigger bust size and keep larger busts from “falling out.”

Finally, bandeaus have a tube design that is usually fastened at the back.  Some designs have straps that tie around the neck, while others are left strapless.

Is this type of swimwear right for you?

Like in other clothing pieces, the answer depends on your body type.  Aside from this, you still have to choose from many different styles.  As will the other types of beachwear, it does not favor all body shapes and sizes.  Usually, those who go for these bikinis are those who have outgoing and adventurous personalities.  They are also worn by young women and those who want to flaunt their female curves.
